At 31 years of age, author Joshua T. Calkins-Treworgy, a resident of the town of Prior Lake, Minnesota, has to date worked primarily in the genres of high fantasy and horror. He works in conjunction with Mr. Robert Preece of www.booksforabuck.com and Mr. Jay Hartman of Untreed Reads. He lives with his fiance Katie Mott. He has three daughters, Cassandra (9) and Celina (7), and Avery (16 months).

Coming to fantasy early in life (9 roughly), Calkins-Treworgy cites Stephen R. Donaldson, Terry Brooks and Stephen King as the heaviest influences on his own narrative works and style. He is also a great fan of Terry Pratchett, Clive Barker, Charles De Lint, Chuck Palaniuk, Peter Straub, Neil Gaiman, Jim Butcher and Anne McCaffrey.

Some of Calkins-Treworgy’s horror works contain scenes of explicit violence and gore, some of which is inspired by comic books such as Garth Ennis’s run on Marvel Comics’ “Punisher” franchise, as well as DC Vertigo’s “Hellblazer”.
